Class Reunion in Colorad (August 20, 2005)
Since Yu Hong was elected to be next president, he started working on the project of our class reunion of 2005, starting by forming a committee, made of Seong Joon Kim, Yoon Kyung Kim and Chang-Wuk Kang.  He made the final decision to have the gathering in Clorado where has spent big chunk of his life and we do have very little knowledge about.  Since then he made dillignet effort to make it successful in every way working through a travel agent in Denver, Colorado.  Those who will join have pretty good idea what we are going to enjoy and expect.   Twenty couples and one without partner from the state and three couples from Korea are joing.  This is a big deal.  Following is a outline of the itinerary:

1. Visiting Pikes Peak, Old Colorado City, US Airforce Academy, Guiseppe' Old Dept Restaurant
2. Pagosa Spring (Hot spring bathing?)'
3. Mesa Verde national Park, Heritage Lunch,
4. Durango and Silver Narrow Gauge Railway, Balck Cabyon of the Gunnison,
5. Grand Junction, Breakfast on the Monument-Colorado National Monument, Greenwood Spring, settle in HOTEL COLORADO, and etc.

Then, on tope of all the effort he put into this project, he now adds variety goodies such as free sun visor, hot baloon, and etc.   On top of that he made such detailed introductions and helpful hints what to prepare and what to expect.  It is  just impossible to describe all of his effort.  May be, he should open a travel agent or permanent traveloguer.

Let me give you some examples of what he sent:

Dear classmates and ladies:
Thanks once more for your participation to our Colorado Reunion.
I hope you've received the receipt of  final payment and itinerary from Centennial Travelers.
This might be my last message to you before meeting you all in Denver.
Just let you know that I might add few extra activities along the route of our tour
which are not listed in the final itineray you received as the time permits.

Some requested to have few group luncheons on the day of our own lunch days. These could cost little extras to all of us, but I'll keep as low as possible.
First group luncheon is planned right after visiting the Great Sand Dunes N.P.,  and I will try to set up other one in the vineyard in Palisade near Grand Junction. Free wine tasting will be provided by the winery.

We might visit the Colorado Gator Farm near Alamosa if the time permits.
It will cost $4.00 per person. This will be little different from the natural environment, some of us who have homes in Florida probably see the alligators from their living rooms, but it will be fun to see those creatures in the snow capped high mountains range (recently featured in Denver TV.)

We might hike short 1/4 miles to see "Treasure Falls" on the way to Pagosa Springs which is near the Wolf Creek ski area, mini-Niagara in Colorado.

10 of us (including 3 from Korea) will do the hot air ballooning early in the morning of 8/24, (reserved,) at the Pagosa Springs, the rest of us could sleep longer, and then we will depart to Mesa Verdi National Park around 9:30 a.m..

Remember we'll be on the Durango-Silverton narrow gauze railway, which
operates the coal burning steam engine which emits the cinders,
so please wear the old clothes or dark colored ones.

Check lists for trip:
(1) Diamox ( in case of susceptible for high altittude problem!)
(2) Sunglasses
(3) Sun Block Lotion (unscented one - insects love the fragnant ones!)
(4) Inspect Repellants
(5) Comfortable well-worn walking shoes
(6) Elegant casual attires, (no fashion show anticipated!)
(7) Hat, cap, or sunvisor
(8) Swimsuits. (please enjoy the hot spring pool soaking!)
(9) Windbreaker, Sweater ,etc as the tour director suggested.
Raincoats? We do not use those in Colorado that I know, not late summer.
We might encouter the passing thundershower in p.m., but passing fast.
No Umbrella, please, it might be a lightening rod!!!!! (Tour director's wrong.)
(10) Analgesics, Aspirin, Advil, Tylenol, if you prefer, be prepared.
(11) Camera and binoculars as suggested by our tour director.

If you have any further questions, please ask me by e-mail or phone.
(303) 830-3541 weekdays (late Sunday - Thursday night) in Denver,
(970) 330-9191 weekend (late Friday - early Sunday) in Greeley,
(970) 396-7473 (cell).

See you all soon! Be healthy!

Dear Friends and Ladies:
Just let you know that I will provide all of you a broad brimmed hiking hat
at the start of our Colorado tour, so unless you'd insist to wear your own hat,
you do not have to bring any hat.
Temperature would be around mid - low 80s during the daytime next week,
50 -60 degrees in the night, and lower in the mountains,
so bring the clothes accordingly, but do not pack too much!
Casual dresses are nice and convenient. No dress up for any formal function
is planned except those gentlemen who would stay over 8/28 might need
a light jacket in the evening.
Those who might be sensitive to the higher altitude, please bring some Dyazide and your favorite pain pills just in case.
Hope all of you have a pleasant and safe flight to Denver.
