강형에게 먼저 선보이려고 가져왔습니다

한마디 말이 이치에 맞지 않으면

천마디 말이 쓸모 없게 된다.

이거 연습하면서

반성 많이 하였습니다

그동안 내 입으로 한 말 중에서

이치에 맞지 않는 말이

그 얼마나 되었을까 하구요 ㅎㅎ

앞으로는 입조심 더 하렵니다

동기 여러분 지난 홈 페이지에서 말씀 올린 그 표적이 여기 있습니다. 우리의 자랑이라고 봅니다. 이 사진은 이한수 동기가 보내 주었습니다. 이한수동기가 어떻게 입수 하였는지는 모릅니다. 다만 고맙기만 합니다. 여기 다시 Pomp and Circumstance를 올려야 하겠군요.

안녕하세요

6.25날입니다

비가 그치고 난 후

도티병원 언덕에

어느새 하얀 구름같이

몰려온 개망초

눈이 부십니다

얼마전까지만 해도

노오란 애기똥풀이 많았는데

거의 다 물러가고

"이제는 내 차례다"

하고 웨치듯 고래를 높이 들고 있습니다

예전에는

이름 없는 잡초라고 치부하고 지나쳤는데

이름을 알고 나니까

참 귀한 놈들로 다가옵니다

54년 전 6.25 가 터질 때도 개망초는 이렇게

피어있었겠지요?

어제는 홍창기 만났습니다

미국서 19년 있다가

아산서울병원으로 와서

15년3개월

원장, 학장등을 지내고

이제 정말 정년퇴임하여

다시 미국 캘리포니아로

떠나가게 된 그.....

감회가 깊겠단 생각을 하고

그와 점심을 하게 된

아산병원 19층 스카이라운지

떠나는 그를 위해 점심을 사려 갔는데

구지 체크를 자기 옆으로 끌고 가는 그.....

만감이 교차한다고 하지만

그의 얼굴에서 평화와 안정 같은 느낌을 받았지요

우리는 자주 먼데를 내다 보곤 했습니다

거기서 내려다 본 한강

구경하세요

위것은 잠실대교와 잠실철교

아래것은 올림픽대교

장마후라 물은 불어났고

물색은 푸르지 못하지만

하늘은 오래간만에 맑았습니다

몽골과 바이칼호수 구경 잘 하고 왔습니다. 돌아오던 날(8/20) 저녁에 동기생들 모임도 있었는데, 이종헌 형의 거의 완쾌된 모습에 모두들 환호와 격려를 보냈고, 15년간 큰 업적을 남기고 미국(SF)으로 돌아가는 (8/29) 홍창기 형에게도 우렁찬 박수로 석별의 정을 표시했습니다

Dear web master Dr. Kang:

I opened this web site only once when you started. Since then I never opened it until today. It is eye-opening matter. I sincerely appreciate your effort. I am going to visit as often as possible from now. I even found Dr. Hong's e-mail. How nice, I can write him now. I also like we can communicatte either in English or Korean. Recently Dr. Shin Kwang Seung passed away. Everybody is saddened by it. I wrote eulogy for him. I hope I did't offend anybody especially Dr. Shin.

Recently I retired and moved to Washington state. My e-mail address is hoiplee@hotmail.com I want to hear from you, class of 61. If you happen to be Seattle area, please drop by.

Hoi Paik Lee (11-10-2004)

Hong Changgi sent an E-mail: We learned about his moving back to the state bits and pieces through grave vines. He confirms that he came to the state 2 months ago and settled in California to be closer to Korea. He sounds that he expect to be traveling to Korea often. He desires to read and do things for the hard earned free time. Of course, he has dedicated in such a way in both continents that he deserve our admiration and deserve good life. We are happy for him. This web master is encouraged by his active participation in the web communication already, thank God.

Jai Do Shim, Liver transplant

I have received a news that Jai Do Shim in California recently, about a month ago, received a liver transplant and he is recuperating. You can imagine how difficult it must have been. He still has hoarseness due to the intubation injury and anorexia. I had a fortune to be able to speak with him today. He sound strong but the voice. I would suggest we all pray for his recovery and confort. I am not sure about calling him as he still has hoarseness but good encouraging card or mail might be good thing. May he recover from the condition soon, I pray.

Dear friends; many of you called to express quite a relief to know that Yongsong is safe, in good spirit on my last correspondence.

He called to affirm that he is doing fine, managed to get back, check his house in New Orleans briefly 2 days ago,

and found it largely intact. He expressed deep gratitude to your concern, care and offer of help. He is in good spirit, hopeful that he would go back soon to repair the damage. He is now in Texas with his relative, considering a number of options at present to chose.
