Yu Hong Kim, 22 classmates made committment to attend
the gathering in Colrado in August.  In addition to the following schedule
he will prepare final details and distributes among us.

August Class ’61 Reunion in Colorado


Pre tour day:Saturday, August 20:
Individual arrivals in Denver.
Overnight at Doubletree Hotel on Quebec Street.
Hotel offers a complimentary shuttle from the airport and has a restaurant on property.

Day #1: Sunday, August 21:   Denver – Colorado Springs.
Ride the Pikes Peak Cog Rail in the morning.
Lunch and time on own in Old Colorado City.
Driving tour of “Garden of Gods” with stop at the Visitors Center.
Drive through the U.S. Air Force Academy – if available.
<Option>: Afternoon Golf instead of sightseeing for diehard golfers?
Welcome group dinner this evening at Giusepp’s Old Depot Restaurant and
overnight at the Amerisuites in Colorado Springs. (B, D)

Day #2: Monday, August 22:   Colorado Springs – Canon City – Alamosa.
Ride the Royal Gorge Route Train; get off at the bridge (built in 1929, the bridge span
across the Scenic Royal Gorge 1,053 feet above the Arkansas River)
and go up the Incline Rail into Royal Gorge Park. (Lunch vouchers for the park included).
Dune Wagon tour of the Great Sand Dunes National Park.
Overnight at the Best Western Inn Alamosa. Group Dinner at the hotel restaurant. (B, L, D)

Day #3: Tuesday, August 23:     Alamosa – Pagosa Springs.
Depart Alamosa midmorning to arrive in Pagosa Springs around lunch time.
Afternoon and evening on own.
Opt to enjoy exploring, soaking the hot springs or (golfers could arrange their own game.)
Best Western Oak Ridge Lodge – across the street from the hot springs and within walking
distance of Main Street – downtown – many nice restaurants in this small down.    (B)

Day #4: Wednesday, August 24:  Pagosa Springs – Mesa Verde – Durango.
Depart Pagosa Springs for a day of exploring in Mesa Verde National Park:
½ day guided tour followed by time on own (Box lunch included.)
Overnight at Holiday Inn in Durango – 3-4 blocks walking distance from Main Street.
Group dinner this evening at the historic Strater Hotel or elsewhere.           (B,L,D)
<Option>: Golfers could arrange their own game instead of sightseeing?

Day #5: Thursday, August 25:   Durango – Ouray – Black Canyon  - Grand Junction.
Ride the Durango-Silverton Historic Steam Train [*Would need to take the 8 a.m. train.]
Lunch own in Silverton, where our coach drive over Red Mountain Pass through Ouray, 
and on to tour at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.
Overnight at the Hampton Inn downtown in Grand Junction. [*This will be a long day].

Day #6: Friday, August 26:      Grand Junction – Glenwood Springs.
“Picnic Breakfast on the Colorado National Monument” – lighting on those red rocks is amazing!!!  Depart for Glenwood Springs. Afternoon and evening on own.
<Options>: Tram ride up Iron Mountain –cave tour available at the top, or
Soaking Hot Springs Pool, Vapor Caves.
Overnight at the Historic Hotel Colorado, includes a guided tour of the hotel.
Walking down across to the hot springs pool from the hotel.
<Option>: Golfers could arrange their game in the afternoon & soaking hot springs. (B)

Day #7: Saturday, August 27:    Glenwood Springs – Vail – Denver.
Stop for lunch and free time in Vail.
It takes usually 3.5 hours to Denver airport from Vail, possible arrival time: 6.00 p.m..
Individual departure on Saturday evening or early Sunday.   (B)

Or

Day in Rocky Mountain National Park.
As an add on one day optional trip out of Denver. [See page #4 in details]

Centennial includes this as group insurance our regularly scheduled tour.
It protects people who have to cancel after final payment due to medical or family emergencies. This would add between $50-60 per person to the price quoted here.

Another alternative is people can choose to purchase insurance individually.

For those opting not to take insurance, they need to know that after final payment,
cancellations will involve penalties, from the railroads and sometimes from hotels.


Deposit and Final Payment Policies:

A deposit of $200 per person is due at time of reservation.
A review of space is due 60 days prior to departure.
Final Payment is due no later than 30 days prior to departure.

Cancellation Policies and Fees:

Entire group may cancel without penalty up until 60 days prior to departure.

Should group cancel within 30 days or less prior to departure, there will no refunds.

For individual cancellation 14 days or less prior to departure, refund will be dependent
on monies returned to Centennial Travelers from vendors and a $50.00 per person cancellation fee.

Optional add on day: ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK
Sunday, August 28, 2005.

Uncover the secrets of Rocky Mountain National Park.
Travel Trail Ridge Road, the highest continuous paved highway in America.
Experience 5 life zones as the elevation ranges from 8,000 feet to 12,183 feet.
Learn about the history, geology, wildlife and plant life in the park.
“Meet” the locals: Elk, mule deer, big horn sheep, coyote, fox, pikas and marmots.
The fields of wildflowers are spectacular. We’ll make lots of stops to explore and
to take photos. Tour the famous Stanley Hotel, a grand old resort hotel, built by FO Stanley
of Stanley Steamer fame. Be aware….Stephen King’s “The Shining” was written and filmed here! Free time to explore the village of Estes Park.

This day trip departs the Doubletree Hotel on Quebec street about 8:30 a.m. and
returns approximately 5:00 p.m.
